first_imgThere was drama at headquarters of Kenyan athletics federation when dozens of athletes stormed the property and locked out top officials, demanding their resignation over alleged corruption and doping cover up. The protesting athletes vowed to continue with the siege until their demands are met.It was early morning at the headquarters (Riadha House) of the athletics governing body in Nairobi, when members of the Professional Athletes’ Association of Kenya overpowered the occupants of Nairobi’s Riadha House, taking over the house of Kenyan athletics with chains, padlocks and protesting banners.In an unprecedented move, a section of disgruntled Kenyan athletes locked out officials of athletics Kenya , claiming they have put Kenya into the doping list of shame. The athletes claim Kenya has to reclaim its rightful position in athletics, change must happen at Riadha house.The protests come at a time when Athletics Kenya’s David Okeyo, who is also an IAAF council member, is facing allegations of corruption, a matter that is under investigations.
