CAL POLY BASEBALL Cal Poly Pomona dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Cal State L.A., 12-6 and 5-0. The Golden Eagles rallied for eight runs in the ninth inning to stun the Broncos (7-11, 1-7) in opener and then rode the sensational pitching by Isaac Morales in the nightcap. Kyle Boggio had a pair of hits and scored three runs on the day for the Broncos. CAL STATE SOFTBALL In game two, Nick Hammer took advantage of two Warriors miscues to score the winning run in the fifth. Tied 3-3, Hammer walked, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a passed ball to make it 4-3. Croxton was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Coyotes. Cal State San Bernardino swept a CCAA baseball doubleheader from Cal State Stanislaus 7-6 in 12 innings, and 4-3 in the seven-inning nightcap on Saturday. Senior outfielder Brad Croxton drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning of the first game, giving the victory to the Coyotes’ third reliever, David Martin. Strong winds limited the first game of a CCAA doubleheader between host Cal State San Bernardino and Humboldt State to five innings and forced the postponement of the second game. The Lumberjacks (14-1, 6-0) defeated the Coyotes 5-1 in Game 1. The teams will attempt to finish the doubleheader at 9 a.m. today. Leslie Carrasco homered for the Coyotes’ (10-11, 4-7) lone run. Jordan Dahl allowed all Humboldt five runs on seven hits. CAL STATE WATER POLO Cal State San Bernardino defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 9-8 and lost to Santa Clara University 9-4 on the first day of the UC Santa Cruz Slugfest women’s water polo tournament. All-American Freyja Berg scored three goals while two-meter player Kaitlin Hartman added two and Sabrina Marquez scored twice as well against the Otters. Against Santa Clara, Marquez scored three of her team’s four goals and Hartman added the fourth for the Coyotes (7-9). CAL STATE TENNIS Strong winds and blowing dirt and sand forced the postponement of a CCAA women’s match between host Cal State San Bernardino and UC San Diego at the Coyote courts. No date was picked for the match to be played. REDLANDS BASEBALL The Bulldogs defeated Indiana Wesleyan 6-0 and 12-5 in a doubleheader. Pitcher Ryan Seifert struck out four, gave up no runs and five hits while Bryan Ducey contributed two RBI for Redlands. In the second game, the Bulldogs (8-3) compiled 15 hits, including a 4-for-4 performance by Jordan Snider who along with teammate Ryan Garcia had three RBI apiece. REDLANDS SOFTBALL The Bulldogs cruised to a pair of victories over visiting Occidental College 9-1 and 11-2 in a SCIAC doubleheader. Pitcher Katie Brnca allowed three hits and no runs to pick up the victory while Kolbi Sprague and Kayla Peterson each had home runs for Redlands.
