Against KAOD, the Reds looked lost, especially playing without captain and shooting star Vassilis Spanoulis.KAOD was led by J’Kovan Brown, who scored 25, and Bosnian Edin Bavcic, with 19, who led the victory that put their team in fourth place, tied with PAOK, which was beaten 81-61 by Panathinaikos, led by James Gist’s 15 points.Panionios jumped into second over Olympiakos with its 74-66 defeat of AGO Rethymnou at Nea Smyrni. The low-budget but spirited Panionios bunch is only one point behind Panathinaikos and has also qualified to play in the European tourney.Ilisiakos moved out of last place with its 74-62 win at home overstruggling Kolossos Rhodes. Trikala beat Pdanelefsiniakos, 70-59 while Nea Kifissia whipped Apollon Patras, 72-54.Aris avoided relegation in beating Ikaros Halkidas 84-67 in Thessaloniki, one week after clinching a spot in the cup final. This was its first game without coach Vangelis Angelou, who left to manage Efes Anadolu in Turkey. Paraskevas Mouratidis took his place.
